Our document file has become large and it is increasingly difficult to find what we need. Is there a way to organize documents into file folders? Or is there any other way to categorize documents so that like documents will be together and, therefore, easier to find. Putting documents into file folders would be ideal, but I'm not sure whether or not we have the capability to do it.

First, there is currently not a way to organize the documents into separate folders. I have gone ahead and submitted this as a suggestion to the MC development team.

Keep one thing in mind, you do have a bit of control over the order that files are displayed in, by using the controls at the top of the documents page. For example, if I wanted to list all my documents in the order that they were added to the site, with the most recent at the top, I could change the options at the top to Sort on Last Modified, Descending order, then click OK.

If you wanted to organize your files by certain groups, it would also be possible to adopt a standard for description, then use the sort by description to have related documents grouped together. For example, say you wanted all your church bulletins to be grouped together on the documents page. If they were all given descriptions of "Bulletin: 01/03/2010" (replacing the date each time), then you sorted on the Description in Asc order, all your Bulletins would be grouped together when viewing with this sort order.

Please see my posting in the Suggestions area - It would be great if more people would make the same suggestion - perhaps something can be done.

As mentioned in the original post, the idea of allowing the documents to be organized into separate folders has been submitted to the MC development team.

Any items posted in the suggestions topic area are also reviewed by the development team.
