When uploading the data from Shepherds Staff to MemberConnect, do the "Listed" checkboxes in Shepherds Staff person records next to cell phone and work phone override the "Unlisted" checkboxes in the MemberConnect contact info section?

Yes, the Listed checkboxes transfer from Shepherd's Staff to MemberConnect. The check boxes are named Listed in Shepherd's Staff and Unlisted in MemberConnect. Even though, the terminology is exactly opposite in our two products, the information does reflect accurately.

Since the information does transfer, then I'd like to request that any changes to the un/listed status on MemberConnect be sent in a notification the same as if a change had been made to address, e-mail, phones, etc. In my test, a notification was not sent - since I'm away from the office I can't test what the default is in Shepherds Staff, but since I just uploaded data again over the weekend, I fear that I have overwritten people's un/listed status since we did not receive notification of anything people had changed upon reviewing MemberConnect info.
And as long as I am suggesting that, I think your notification system should be set up so that any data relayed from Shepherds Staff to MemberConnect is targeted for notification if a user changes it on MemberConnect so that we can make the corresponding change in Shepherds Staff so that it is not overwritten on the next upload.
Thanks!

I will log these two items as suggestions in our suggestion log.

Does a new upload from Shepherd's Staff overwrite all fields in Member Connect? Or does the utility compare each field for the most recent update? We receive notifications, but in our large church, I am confident we have missed many changes needed to Shepherd's Staff.
Does the utility blank out logins and passwords in Member Connect? _________________ Becky Schutte |

If your member information was originally uploaded from Shepherd's Staff, when you perform subsequent uploads from Shepherd's Staff to your MemberConnect site, the Shepherd's Staff data will always overwrite the MemberConnect data.
The notification system in MC can be set up so that an email notification is sent anytime a member updates their personal data. Often one of the people set up to receive those notification emails is the person responsible for maintaining data in Shepherd's Staff, so that they know what information may need to be updated. |
