|

I just tried to update a page on our website. In the wysiwyg editor I received the message "Ephox 30 day free trial expired, contact ephox.com".
What's up with this? Doesn't the fee the church pays to CPH cover our update capability?

Yes, your MC subscription covers your church's use of the ephox WYSIWYG editor.
The Java-based WYISWYG editor from Ephox requires that the current version of Java be installed in each machine to function properly. You may not have the proper version If you experience these problems:
• You are unable to save changes to your data
• The WYSIWYG editor is not working
• A notice that the editor's trial has expired
Then please follow these steps to fix.
The new WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editor requires two things to operate:
1) Java must be installed and running on your computer
To see if Java is properly installed, go to http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and click the "Verify Installation" button.
It should come back and display"Verified Java Version, Congratulations!" and will give you the Java version number.
If this is the case, then Java is installed and running. If not, follow the directions to install Java.
2) You must accept the security warning dialog that pops up the first time
The first time you open a page that contains the Java WYSIWYG editor, a security dialog will popup.
You must accept this certificate for the editor to work.
If you prefer to use the older WYSIWYG editor, you can:
a) Click the "Edit my options" selection in the "I want to" list box (top-right side of page)
b) Select the "Old WYSIWYG" option and then click Save.
Note: This editor will eventually be phased out.

| Sometimes, even simply shutting down and restarting your browser session can clear this issue (as java would typically reload when the web browser is restarted). Again, it is typically one of the above issues that causes the expiration notice to occur. |
